NLC Connects People

While we're proud of our curriculum, and put a great deal of energy into our training and programs, the greatest power in New Leaders Council is the people it brings together. Meet two of them, Mike and Biko.

Michael Webb joined NLC-Houston's inaugural fellowship class in 2015, and joined the board for the 2016 year, when Biko Mandela Gray became a fellow. 

As happens so often with an NLC class, the learning flew in all directions. Each man brought passion and insight to every gathering, and neither hesitated to challenge, question, or wonder how we could be doing things differently, more inclusively, faster, or better. 

The two recently got together to talk about their lives, and what lights a fire under Mike's activism. 

...the most compelling form of Mike’s love comes in his desire to advocate for those who cannot or will not speak for themselves. If MLK was right in saying that justice is what love looks like in public, then Mike’s devoted his life to fighting for this public kind of love...
